St. Mary’s was founded in 1885. In 1918 the boys and girls who attended St. Mary’s were separated and St. Mary’s became known as a, “all girl’s” school at that point. The schools remained separate until 1969 at which time they were recombined to form what is now known as St. Mary’s Senior High School. The school has been in its current location on the banks of the Elbow River in Calgary since 1969.
